The St Patrick’s Day Fireball was a rare event so to get another bright fireball in the same camera a mere 34 days later is most unusual. This new one flew directly over our Clanfield Observatory in a north westerly direction at 01:51:09 (British Summer Time) on the morning of 20th April 2016. It had a magnitude of around -5 (which is about 70 times brighter than the brightest star in the sky, Sirius) and appeared to disintegrate as it burnt up in the atmosphere..
