«Свіча» (Candle) — is a song by Oksana Bilozir. Poet Bohdan Stelmakh put his lyrics on Myroslav Skoryk “Melody A minor“. The song is dedicated to the tragedy of Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-33. Traditionally, on the 4th Saturday in November, on the Remembrance Day of the victims of the Holodomor at 4pm, the memory of the victims of the genocide of the Ukrainian people is commemorated by a minute of silence and a lit candle on the window sill.
