I recently purchased the Helios 44-2 58mm f2 lens and decided to compare it to my Sigma 24-70. Both lenses used the following ND filters: Helios 44-2: Hoya 52mm VND Sigma 24-70: Peter McKinnon VND II 2-5 stops I shot everything wide open to get the most bokeh and did minimal color correction in post. Footage was also graded using the Mark Bone Kodak High Con & Sat LUT set to 100 intensity. ***To make the Helios lens work on my Sony I had to purchase an adapter; here’s the one I bought from :
