This is video which demonstrates new sound-card for ZX-Spectrum - SIDBlaster/ZX. It is compatible with any ZX-Spectrum computer (even with ZX-Spectrum 16k). It doesn’t share ZX RAM and is shown as array of ports. Spectrum only sends data to card, and gives command to play tune. Tune sound was recorded directly from SID.
This sound-card features:
- MOS 6510 CPU working on 0-2MHz clock (adjusted);
- 64Kb main RAM;
- supports exact C64 banking;
- 16Kb shadow RAM;
- direct playing of PSID and RSID tunes;
- changable playing speed (even for non-IRQ tunes);
- PAL/NTSC compatibility;
- plays “large“ tunes;
- up to 4 SID’s (2x6581, 2x8580);
- full C64-interrupt system.
THIS IS PROTOTYPE ONLY!!! FINAL VERSION WILL BE BUILT USING FPGA.
