Tomato Shorba | टोमेटो शोरबा | Soup Recipe | Chef Harpal Singh

#TomatoShorba is an Indian style tomato soup which is thin in consistency, spicy from the use of spices and is very flavourful. Ingredients Quantity Oil 2-3 tbsp 2 Tbsp Cloves 4 no’s Cinnamon stick 1inch Green cardamom 2 no’s Black pepper 1 tsp Coriander seeds 1 tsp Cumin seeds 1 tsp Bay leaf 2 no’s Ginger chopped ½ tsp Garlic chopped 4-5 cloves Green chillies chopped 2-3 no’s Tomato roughly cut 4-5 no’s Red chilli powder 1 tsp Turmeric powder a pinch Garam masala ½ tsp Coriander stems 5-6 no’s Water 1½ litre Besan/ Gram flour 1 tbsp Salt to taste Salted/ Kara Boondi for garnish Coriander leaves for garnish. Method:- 1. Heat oil in a pan, add Cloves, cinnamon stick, green cardamom, black pepper, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, bay leaf, chopped ginger and garlic, mix well and sauté for 30 sec. 2. Add chopped green chillies, mix well and sauté for 30 sec. 3. Add tomatoes, mix well and sauté for 1 min. 4. Add red chilli, turmeric powder and garam masala powder mix well and sauté for 30 sec. 5. Add coriander stems and water, mix well and cover and cook for 20 min. 6. After 20 min, Take a masher and mash the tomatoes well and then strain it. Keep it aside. 7. Heat oil in another pan, add gram flour, mix well and sauté until the aroma comes out then add the tomato shorba and mix it well. 8. Strain the shorba in another pan and mix well. 9. Add salt and mix well. 10. Remove in serving bowl, garnish with salted Boondi and coriander leaves and serve hot.
