Camberwell New Road, London.
A 1912 Unic taxi cab is being lovingly restored by a dedicated team in Camberwell, at the London General Cab Company.
M/S of Eddie Palthorpe carefully painting an outline on freshly painted yellow wheel. Jack Clark and Len Wells are seen lifting a door onto the cab, which is in mid restoration. Tom Bennett taps a sheet onto the rear of the cab. C/U shot of the engine. Lesley Stanley fits black leather hide onto the rear side. He chalks out a mark on the leather to make a cut. There is a brief shot of the Unic badge on the front. Len Wells fixes some wood strips to the side using clamps. He has a pencil behind his ear. He takes them off and sands them on a bench .
Pan to some photos pinned up nearby of the original cabs, being used for reference. C/U of the photos. Mr Houghton picks up an original oil lamp which he compares to the photos. Len also looks, still has the pencil behind his ear. Its makes a good shot of a balding grey haired working gentleman in blue overall
