The JUSTIFIED Executions Of The Guards Of Mauthausen

As the Second World War turned against the Germans, the Allies came across a number of concentration camps. The largest which was liberated was Auschwitz, but there were many other camps that showed the true horror of the Third Reich and the Nazi regime. One of the largest and most brutal was Mauthausen, and inside the fences here over 90,000 people died from the horrific conditions and brutality that occurred there. Mauthausen was next to a quarry, where prisoners were forced to work incredibly hard inside of. The quarry at Mauthausen was known for horrific treatment, and here prisoners worked incredibly long hours, with hardly any food. They were forced to carry heavy stones up, ’The Stairs Of Death,’ and many could not do this and died on the stairs. The SS guards at the camp also executed many prisoners, and disturbingly forced many prisoners to throw their fellow inmates off the cliffs in the quarry. Mauthausen was known for brutal treatment, and thousands of prisoners died from execution
