Worlds Largest Motor Liner (1927)

Item title reads:“ World’s largest motor liner. 32,000 ton S. S. Augustus launched by Edna Mussolini the “duc’s“ daughter.“ Genoa, Italy Panning shot up the huge slim towering shape of the “Augustus“ liner, still with scaffolding attached. M/S men working on brushing and cleaning the slipway. The workers pose in front of the huge propellers and wave enthusiastically. Edna Mussolini prepares to launch the vessel. There are dramatic looking shots as camera is directed up at the huge side of the vessel as it moves off down the slipway. L/S as the crowd wave excitedly. M/S from a boat in the dock waters as the ship slips into the water. The liner is then seen in misty conditions surrounded and followed by a flotilla of boats and tugs.
