Regarding old “cold cases”, the common problems are contamination from modern DNA and limited availability of the original genetic material. In this talk, Dr. Jari Louhelainen demonstrates some of the techniques which are currently emerging in the field of forensic research and which he has applied for historic cases, like the famous Jack The Ripper murders.
