DEVELOPING! An electric big rig caught fire early Monday morning after crashing into the trees on eastbound Interstate 80 near the offramp for Laing Road in Placer County, California Highway Patrol logs show. Drivers are being kept off the interstate for at least half a mile in both directions because the Tesla truck’s battery was on fire, said Jason Lyman, a CHP spokesperson. The toxic fumes are an inhalation danger, he said. Source: Police frequency
