1943 WWII GMC Army Truck

GMC CCKW WWII Truck ½-ton_6×6_truck More of our videos @AlaskaTrucker/videos The GMC CCKW, better known as the “Jimmy“, was built in large numbers during WWII and saw Service in every theater of Allied operation. The truck was powered by a 270 cubic inch GMC six cylinder gasoline engine and utilized a 5 speed progressive transmission built by either Clark or Borg-Warner. Two different types of axles and transfer cases were simultaneously installed in these trucks with one manufacturer being Timken, and the other being Dana. The most famous example of use for the GMC CCKW was the “Red Ball Express“ , whereupon thousands of these trucks were arranged in convoys across Europe to feed the Allies fuel and supplies for the war effort. It is a great honor to drive such a relic as this. Thanks for watching, and Keep’em Rolling!
