Why Utrecht removed cycle paths to improve a street

The Utrecht Nachtegaalstraat (which means Nightingale street) was redesigned. Since bicycles outnumber motor vehicles by over 4 to 1 it was time to remove the protected cycleways that had reached their maximum capacity. More information in the blog post:
