Mayhem from 2 inches of snow on Interstate 55 at Sikeston, Missouri - January 6, 2022

It is common for the fringes of snowstorms, where accumulations are lower, to have some of the highest road impacts. This was once again true on the western edges of the January 6, 2022 heavy snow event from Kentucky through West Virginia. A tractor-trailer slides into a stopped semi, pushing it into a third. A pickup towing a camper trailer slides into a semi and off of the road. A minivan slides into the cable barrier to avoid stopped traffic. Another car fishtails but regains control.
