Plane goes nuke sniffing and another goes on a recon mission in Europe ☢️

A US Air Force ’nuke sniffer’ plane and a standard reconnaissance variant depart for a day of missions in Europe. They’re both variations of the Boeing C-135. The ’nuke sniffer’ is the WC-135 Constant Phoenix while the recon variant is the RC-135 Rivet Joint. The Boeing WC-135 Constant Pheonix conducts atmospheric testing for the use of detecting nuclear explosions and activity. It’s often referred to as ’the nuke sniffer’ due to the work it does. The Boeing RC-135 Rivet Joint conducts reconnaissance missions and are based at RAF Mildenhall in the UK, frequently travelling to Eastern Europe to monitor the situation in Ukraine. This activity is well reported by NATO and various press.
