Israel-Iran: Netanyahu vows Iran ’will pay’ as missile barrage launched on Israel

Iran “has made a big mistake” and “will pay” for attacking Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu has said. The Israeli prime minister vowed to retaliate after Tehran fired a wave of at least 180 missiles, including dozens of ballistic missiles, at Israeli cities in the centre and south of the country. He told his cabinet on Tuesday that Iran “does not understand” his country’s “determination to retaliate” against its enemies. “They will understand,” he said. “We will stand by the rule we established: whoever attacks us – we will attack him.” An Israeli official told The Telegraph that the attack – a major escalation in the months-long conflict in the Middle East – signalled that war had been declared on Israel.
