A 6.4 magnitude earthquake was followed a minute later by a further 6.3 magnitude tremor, near the city of Bandar Abbas, Iran. The earthquake caused severe landslides on Geno Mountain, as well as collapsing walls, destroying buildings and vehicles. The impact of the earthquake was felt in neighbouring areas of Iran, and was also felt in Dubai. The earthquake has raised fears of a catastrophic earthquake hitting Iran’s capital Tehran, which lies near fault lines.
