Stellaris Are Screening Ships Effective? - Fleet Composition Testing

Can we use screening ships inside a fleet to protect your valuable ships from taking fire? In this video I investigate the viability of that fleet composition. To do this I have testing fleets of battleships against my testing fleets where 10% of the ships (by fleet power) have been replaced with a smaller class of ship. The thoery here is that these smaller ships will take the fire first, and die off, leaving our main ships alive and able to take the fight to the enemy!
