Gravitas is the fourteenth studio album by British progressive rock band Asia, released on 25 March 2014. Written and produced by John Wetton and Geoff Downes, it is the group’s first release to feature their new guitarist, Sam Coulson, who replaced Steve Howe in January 2013 after the latter retired from the band, and their final studio album before Wetton died of cancer in 2017. Gravitas was originally announced under the name Valkyrie which would eventually come to be the title of the single.
“I Would Die For You“ is listed as having been written in 1986, as opposed to the rest of the songs, which were composed in 2013. An early version appeared on the Wetton/Downes demo album.
