Rose the Hat , is the main antagonist of Stephen King ’s 2013 novel Doctor Sleep and its 2019 film adaptation of the same name. She is a sorceress and the semi-immortal leader of a nomadic tribe of quasi-demonic vampires known as the “True Knot“. Rose and her followers are known to seek out children with telepathic abilities and torture them to death, feeding off their psychic essence, which they call “Steam“.
