Mega Man X2 - Wire Sponge Perfect Run (No Damage, Uncharged Buster-Only, No Upgrades)

In today’s video, we take on a Perfect Run of my go-to starting Maverick from Mega Man X2, Wire Sponge! I apologize if this run isn’t exactly riveting. This one honestly felt more like a Perfect *Speedrun* as my main strategy was to just breeze past all obstacles before they became a problem. All X games after the first give you a dash by default, so you might as well make the most of it. The Sky Farmers that start appearing at 0:52 onward (great name, by the way) caused the most trouble, as they can tend to get in your way by dropping different obstacles depending on the weather, in addition to sometimes bumping into you when they fly away. As previously mentioned, try to get away from these guys as fast as possible and you’ll be good to go. Wire Sponge himself wasn’t too much a pest. He’ll mainly just try to cling on to the ceiling and fire off seeds that’ll sprout into vines wherever they land. Try to stick close to him for a bit before backing up and taking care of him and the vines from a distance. Also, look out for his Strike Chain which he can hit you from across the room with. Once he’s low on health, he can begin to charge up an attack that shoots off lightning from the ceiling. Be sure to keep your cool when he uses it, though, since if you stay as far away from him as possible, he will almost certainly miss you, making it more a bluff, if anything. Created using WeVideo.
