Sun Fires Off Two Large Eruptions And Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) - December 30. 2023.

SDO and GOES-16 SUVI imagery observed a filament eruption off the SE limb on Dec. 30, 2023 (07:47 UTC). A large slow-moving CME detected by SOHO/LASCO solar spacecraft. Model analysis is underway for any Earth-directed component. Prominence Eruption The sun released a huge prominence eruption at the northwest limb at about 17:40 UTC. NOAA forecasters don’t have much imagery of the CME yet, but more than likely it’s not Earth-directed, given the eruption’s location.
