Laying 8“ field drain tile

This installation required a significant portion of the main line to be laid at 5ft deep to maintain good grade to the end of the line. The main line totals 1900ft of 8“ tile and 750ft of 6“ tile. The last 400 feet of 8“ needed the ’boil’ or fluffed up dirt to be pushed out of the way with the backhoe to ease installation. The boot was designed and built by Split Pine Farms, Inc. and put into service this past winter. Including the job from this video, it has installed nearly 4000 feet of 8“ tile. Due to the added width of the 8“ boot, a 12“ wide point was designed and fabricated to cut a wider path.
