Junior Table Tennis (1960)

Butlin’s Holiday Camp, Bognor Regis, West Sussex. Various M/Ss and C/Us of eight teenagers warming up for a table tennis match; they are all hitting balls across a ping-pong table in pairs at the same time. Commentator says that training has been “given at a Bognor holiday camp [Butlins], to weekly winners of a coaching scheme, sponsored by a national newspaper“. The teenagers all take their seats in the audience as four younger boys play a game of doubles, each one coming in to take alternate shots. C/U of a young girl in the audience watching; C/U of the coaches, Johnny Leach and Diane Rowe watching at a table and making notes.
