Boys Will Be Boys (1932)

M/S of children walking towards a small town school as the bell rings for the start of term (or ’semester’). A mother sends her son off to school, after checking behind his ears for dirt. Two boys stop on the way to school to speak to a class mate with the mumps, leaning over his garden fence. One of the boys says, in a disgruntled way, “We never get anything like that“. A teacher standing at the school door asks a girl if she had a good holiday; she replies that she saw the total collapse of the moon. The teacher says “You mean the total eclipse of the sun“. The same woman turns to two boys and says “I’ll bet you’re glad to be back“ - C/U of the boys looking miserable. Another boy tells his dog to wait outside the school door for him until 3 o’clock.
