World number two Aryna Sabalenka said she is doing her best not to put herself under pressure as she prepares for her Australian Open title defence. A breakthrough 2023 for the 25-year-old saw her claim a maiden Grand Slam title at the Australian Open and she also finished runner-up at the US Open and made the semi-finals of Wimbledon and Roland Garros. Sabalenka said she has adopted a new mindset which means she now accepts that she can lose. “Accepting this fact gives you more belief and you’re more calm on the court in those crucial moments,“ said the Belarusian.
