#BREAKING Protesters rally in Bamako in Support of French Ambassador’s Expulsion

Protesters rally in Mali’s capital Bamako on Friday, February 4, in support of the Malian military leaders’ decision to expel the French ambassador from the country earlier this week. On Monday, the Malian government summoned the French ambassador, Joel Meyer, and instructed him to leave Mali over what the country’s military spokesman called ’hostile and outrageous statements’ by the French foreign minister. Last week, French foreign minister Jean-Yves Le Drian described Mali’s transitional government as ’out of control’ and illegitimate amid France’s escalating tensions with the West African state following two coups.​ Thank you for watching!
