George and Ira Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess- The complete 2002 Lincoln Center Production

This 2002 Lincoln Center Production of George Gershwin’s PORGY AND BESS is a fine recreation of the famous 1976 Houston Grand Opera’s PORGY AND the great John DeMain conducting, who was also the conductor with the Houston Grand Opera’s production.. keeping the tempos correct, with Gershwin’s FULL orchestration. This superb production of PORGY and BESS is deserving of a Blu Ray or DVD release.. alas.. the only other Porgy that has been released on Blu Ray is the horrendous San Francisco production, which fails, suffers miserably (with a weak, edited, limited orchestration, among other things), in the light of THIS 2002 production. Agreed, this video tape is not the best, it is, after all; a video it IS in STEREO; the COMPLETE opera as presented that evening on PBS, in March of 2002. IF anyone has a BETTER video of this production, I would like to speak with them.. I would love to have a BETTER copy of this production.. thanks!
