Firing a Smith and Wesson 1940 Light Rifle

This was something of an oddity. I was tasked with developing some load data for an original S&W 1940 Light Rifle, which is a 9“ barreled open-bolt firing semi-automatic rifle S&W made for the Brits at the onset of WW2. The Brits didn’t like the guns, chopped them up and threw them into the channel. As of now, only 75 of these original guns exist, and we were lucky enough to fire it.
