Santa Esmeralda starring Leroy Gomez Santa Esmeralda was a band founded by Leroy Gómez. He started his own band at the age of 14 and later joined Tavares. He went on tour with them in North America and Europe. In Paris, he was invited by Elton John to work on his album Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. After this Gómez left Tavares and the songwriters got to know Nicolas Skorsky and Jean Manuel de Scarano. He founded the Santa Esmeralda band with them. The band’s first album was ’Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood’ wit
