LIVE: Putin to visit Mount Athos alongside Patriarch Kirill

Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to visit Mount Athos in Greece, no Saturday, May 28, in order to mark the 1,000 year presence of Russian Orthodox monks in Greece. He will later meet with Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos in Karyes. Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia is due to join the Russian president during his visit to Mount Athos. Putin is paying a working visit to Greece between May 27-28, meeting Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras among other senior Greek officials.
