Cubism is often referred to as one of the most avant-garde and revolutionary art movements of the modern era... but what is Cubist art and who were the Cubists? The two main artists who were the ‘inventors’ of Cubism in 1907 were France’s Georges Braque and Spain’s Pablo Picasso. Despite the name, neither of these Cubist’s painted cubes.
