This Game Was BOTW Before BOTW

Patreon 😳 Mini Ninjas is the best 2009 action-adventure game you’ve never heard of (yes that’s a very specific category). Even though it’s not an open world RPG, Mini Ninjas is a fun and underrated hidden gem that never got the attention it deserved. Developed by the same studio that made Hitman (IO Interactive), Mini Ninjas carries an uncanny resemblance to one of the most celebrated games of recent times, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I’m not sure if BOTW was inspired by Mini Ninjas, but playing Mini Ninjas in 2022 as a Zelda fan, you will no doubt notice similarities between it and its open world cousin, BOTW. Mini Ninjas carries the same DNA of Breath of the Wild’s sprawling open world filled with lush cartoony nature and beautiful landscapes, presents it in a linear fashion but with the same amount of character.
