Mother appears in court charged over house fire that killed her two sets of twins

A mother charged with manslaughter and child abandonment after her four young sons died in a fire at her home appeared at the Old Bailey on Monday (8 January). Deveca Rose, 29, of Wallington, south London, was not asked to enter pleas to the charges and spoke only to confirm her name during a short hearing. The judge adjourned the plea hearing to March 8 and set a provisional trial of up to four weeks from September 2. The trial will be heard at the Old Bailey before Judge Mark Lucraft KC, who is the Recorder of London.
