Is Izzet prowess still the best modern deck? Izzet Prowess was the best deck in modern before the release of modern horizons 2, but now it is not so clear what the best deck is in modern. In first glance it looked like Izzet blitz gained nothing from the new MH2 release, but it was quickly discovered that Dragon’s rage channeler was the card to slot perfectly into the archetype. With izzet prowess getting a new card along with it’s previous dominance, it is bound to stay in the upper echalon of decks to play in modern for the foreseeable future.
