The Fly

Capo 2 D G A D The fly tried to get off the floor I played God, let him struggle some more B D A G And it’s just what little Dewey said, from here they’re all just ants A D So I just started to smite them D G A D I thought of pourin water on em God thought up a flood And just like me I like to think it was a passing thought A D And maybe he just acted on impulse Maybe after then he thought it was too much B D A G Found a rainbow on the table, and I sent it to his son Said let this be a lesson, no more floods for anyone A G D A A G D But I’ll never forgive these flies for ruining my lunch So I poured a cup of water on his son G A D G God knows me, and God knows you Like God knows gum on the back of his shoe It’s not dragging him down, but is just enough A G D For a hurricane, tornado, superpowered by the sun And a slowly boiling temperature that will kill everyone And a curse for lots of spiders that will brainwash, overrun And take power, and take money, and then blow up all the fun B D A G And it’s just what little Dewey said, from here we’re all just ants B D A G And it’s so easy to step and swat and not really feel bad B D A G And when you stop to think just for a second, you are glad A D That you are way too tall to be an ant, I’m not an ant
