Pre-order ’The Get Up’ DVD/CD now - Released 18th November On 14th May 2021, during the height of the Covid Pandemic and lock-down frustration, Madness delivered a truly unique show: a globally streamed evening of vaudevillian entertainment recorded at the London Palladium. Scripted by Charlie Higson (The Fast Show) and featuring the band, plus special guests Paul Weller and Roland Gift, ‘The Get Up\!’ showed Madness watching the story of how they got together and became the institution that they are today. Hosted and narrated by a ghostly Higson, the film captures early rehearsals, classic Madness banter and a greatest hits set, including three previously unreleased tracks: ‘Baby Burglar’, ‘If I Go Mad’ and ‘Theatre Of The Absurd’. The result was perhaps the most imaginative and innovative ‘lock-down’ performance in a time of no crowds or live audiences in venues.
