Elvis Presley - I Got A Feeling In My Body - From First Take to the Master

Elvis recorded just two spiritual tracks, this song and “Help Me” during his 1973 Stax session which complimented those recorded during his Nashville session in 1971. However, “I Got A Feelin’ In My Body” is probably the track that would appeal most to the secular listener due to it’s up tempo seventies vibe. An updated version Elvis’ rendition was created for the Elvis (2022) movie and this version is included at the end of this video. It was recorded by Elvis on 10 December 1973 at Stax studio in Memphis and although Elvis finally got through seven takes, it was the third which became the RCA master. Post production took place on 2 January 1974 with backing vocals added before band overdubs. After this was completed the track was placed on the “Good Times” album which was released in March 1974. As with all of these videos, to get the most out of the re-edited audio, I highly recommend you use ear /headphones and turn the volume up as much as you dare!
