Peeps Through The Window Of The World No. 17 (1935)

Titles read: ’PEEPS THROUGH THE WINDOW OF THE WORLD’. Austria. Brief shots of the town of Heileklenblut (sp?) at the foot of Glossglockner, Austria’s highest mountain. Several shots of a couple climbing up the snowy mountain. They take in the view of the top. In the pretty town of Hol (sp?) we see various shots of the locals doing traditional figure dancing on a green while musicians play. They all wear traditional costume. A small group of people watch. In Upper Austria we see men at work in a granite quarry, preparing a bed of timber. A huge block of granite that has been split from the quarry wall is pulled onto the timber bed below without breaking. Shots of stonemasons shaping the block into a pillar for a Siamese temple 9,000 miles away. Cataloguer’s note: there is no paperwork for this issue so spellings of place names have been transcribed phonetically. I would be grateful for any corrections! FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
