The main goal of our project is to map the astonishing variety in accomplished blockflute playing worldwide today. To this end, we decided to use what you could call the holy grail of blockflute literature, “Der Fluyten Lust-Hof” of Jhr. Jacob van Eyck.
These 143 top hits as collected in 1635 by Jhr. Jacob van Eyck offer every opportunity for a plethora of different interpretations.
For most of these pieces there is no “standard” interpretation to rely on, therefore different versions of the same Van Eyck original will be astonishingly divergent. It is our purpose to make these available to the general public. Click on a title or a number after the title and you will be surprised by the overwhelming variety of possibilities these simple variations have to offer.
This is a Catalogue under development. A steadily growing group of accomplished blockflute players will jointly provide the entire catalogue with their interpretations. Who wishes to hear a title that is as yet unpublished, please send us a request which we will forward to our supporting performers.
