Shifting Sands was designed to be a lovely, flowing wrap to wear on all your beachy adventures. The pattern includes a simple eight-row repeat and can be customized to fit your body. The wrap features beads and drop stitches for additional interest.
If you’re ready to cast on, grab your yarn and needles, and then follow along as I demonstrate everything you need to know to make your own Shifting Sands! In this video, I make a miniature version and demonstrate the Garter Stitch borders, the individual row instructions, how to add beads and drop stitches, as well as how to seam the finished pieces together.
Shifting Sands uses our Luster Sport yarn, which is a fantastic choice for this summery design. Luster Sport is a soft and silky blend of 50% Lyocell and 50% Superwash Merino Wool and is a beautifully shimmering and soft, sport weight yarn with a squish factor that is sure to please!
The sample shown here was made with our Coastal Hues kit, but you can use any sport weight yarn in any colors that you desire. Our sample used approximately 1052 yards (962 m) total: Color A: 352 yards (322 m), and Color B-Color E: 140 yards (128 m) each color. The pattern is customizable, but may require additional yardage.
