How to tie Shibari: Futomomo self-tie

A decorative Futomomo self-tie featuring munters hitches and a foot sling for burning rope. Music? Bach’s Prelude and Fugues 3 as played by John Lewis Grant Shibari is a phrase that means to tie decoratively. Also known as kinbaku, it is the contemporary art of Japanese rope bondage. By combining together basic knots and easy patterns, a rigger is able to construct a bondage restraint that is functional, ephemeral, and beautiful all at the same time. How to tie Shibari is a series of video guides produced by myself to teach and promote this style of art to the world. My driving philosophy is to keep instructions straightforward and simple with a strong belief in “Show don’t tell“. Join me as I share what I know and together we can advance Shibari to new levels.
