Astronaut Warns of ’1 Million Asteroids That Could Hit Earth’, following Flurry of Close Flybys

July 30, 2020: ESA astronaut Paolo Nespoli posted a warning on social media on June 30, indicating that there are presently more then 1 million asteroids that have the potential to strike Earth. Five asteroids all classified as Near Earth Objects, and considered to be quite large, flew past the Earth on July 27-28.
