Watch again as Jake Sullivan spoke at Aspen Security Forum in Colorado on Friday, 21 July. As US-supplied cluster bombs are being deployed by Ukraine in the battle against Russia, the assistant to the President for National Security Affairs said: “It’s not for us to sit around and plot how to change the regime in Moscow. We’ve made clear that’s not where our efforts lie. Our efforts lie in supporting Ukraine so they can be as successful on the battlefield as possible.“ Ukraine has pledged to only use the controversial bombs to dislodge concentrations of Russian enemy soldiers. The munitions arrived in Ukraine last week and are seen by the US as a way to get Kyiv critically needed ammunition to help bolster its offensive and push through Russian frontlines.
