Handcuffed suspect steals cop car and flees

When these Colorado State Patrol Troopers responded to a dangerous driver who had caused several high-speed fender benders along the freeway, the answer was simple - just handcuff him and stick him in the back of the police car to await his fate, right? Wrong. It’s some luck to have arrested the world’s most double-jointed criminal, because a few minutes after securing the suspect in the back of a patrol car, he somehow managed to wiggle his way into the driver’s seat, start the engine and speed away, all with his hands still cuffed. A high speed pursuit followed, at the end of which the rogue driver lost control of the vehicle (understandably) and crashed. He was successfully rescued from the vehicle and taken to hospital. It’ll be fine, they’ll cuff him to the side of the hospital bed so he can’t make a run for it. Oh wait.
