“Critical situation” in Orsk, the city continues to flood

There is a federal emergency in the Orenburg region: a dam broke due to flooding on Friday night. The water began to rise rapidly - the main blow fell on the city of Orsk. More than 6,000 houses were flooded, more than 2,000 people were evacuated, including 689 children—half of the residents who had to leave their homes were in temporary accommodation centers. The Minister of Emergency Situations worked in Orsk over the weekend; the peak water level is predicted for April 10. More than 6.8 thousand residential buildings were flooded in 39 Russian regions. The level of the Ural River in Orenburg rose by nine centimeters by Sunday evening. 99 people sought medical help.
