He was already popular in the western region of Africa, but now it’s becoming international, especially because of his speech in Russia-Africa. He addressed Vladimir Putin during the Russia Africa summit and alot of African praised him for his bold statements. There are so many points that he made, but the ones that Africans were happy about is the fact that he mentioned the puppet leaders of Africa. He said that this is enough, like this generation is going to change it and that is what’s going to happen going forward. And that’s what’s gaining him popularity, especially the fact that he’s young but full of ideas and strength. He mentioned that they’re fighting against imperialism. Even though other African leaders are calling him and his whole military leadership out, he believes that they’re making a big mistake. And to be frank, we need to also consider the people on the ground. Yes, having a coup is not the ideal way of transitioning power. But as he said, why do you take arms? There’s a reason why this people said enough is enough. It’s because they got tired of their leadership and their leadership being puppets to the West. And in this case, most of them to France.
