Henry Mancini “Baby Elephant Walk“ from “Hatari“ live
Hit song form 1962 Howard Hawks’ motion picture “Hatari“ starring John Wayne which was shot in Africa. Seems like I recall hearing Henry Mancini in Washington D.C. at a concert saying this song would help send his Baby Elephants to college. I always made time to hear Henry Mancini when he was in town. His pianist in the Peter Gunn days was the now famous John Williams.
