Can a Catholic be Ignorant of the Bible

Do Catholics base their beliefs on the Bible? YES, but the Bible is not the only source of Revelations. We have the Fathers of the Church, the Magisterium and Tradition. The Fathers of the Church: Sts. Augustine, Jerome, Ambrose, and Gregory are regarded as the most important Fathers of the Roman Catholic church. No Father of the Church had a more profound effect on Christian theology than did St. Augustine. The Magisterium consists of only all the infallible teachings of the Church, “Wherefore, by divine and Catholic faith all those things are to be believed which are contained in the word of God as found in Scripture and tradition, and which are proposed by the Church as matters to be believed as divinely revealed, Tradition is the faith that the apostles received and handed on to the faithful by word of mouth or by letter. It is the living transmission of the apostolic preaching accomplished in the Holy Spirit (CCC 78). It is the living faith of the Church.
