(New version in comments) 3D Games in GameMaker - Loading OBJ Models

You can tell this video is old because I still have Skype pinned on my task bar. So Model Creator for Game Maker is nice, but suppose you want to use a more qualified 3D model editor for use with Game Maker. For that you need a way to load a file format such as an .obj model into Game Maker. This was written for Game Maker Studio 2, but can work in Game Maker Studio 1 and can be adapted for even earlier versions, if you’re still using those.
Here’s the code. I’ve updated the repository to take care of some common issues; see the pinned comment.

Note that .obj models do not support animation. To make use of animation, you need to use a different format such as .fbx, which (as far as I know) only one person has attempted as of my writing this. I may do a tutorial on that at a later date, as well.
