Lynn Nicholson plays new Stomvi USA S3 Trumpet

K.O. just sent me one of his new S3 trumpets for evaluation. The S3 is a very interesting horn, to say the least. As I’ve told most of you before, the VRII is the best horn I’ve ever played--perfect for my approach to trumpet. I can’t imagine a better horn. That being said, I am surprised to find that I can achieve comparable results with the S3 trumpet, while approaching same in a slightly different way. The S3 is really, really loud--louder than my 8310z, and that’s saying a lot. Hehehe. And it maintains a beautiful sound, just like the VRII. If I had to describe simply the way it plays, I would say the S3 plays like a very good Bach that keeps right on going above high G. If you’re looking for a horn that slots/sounds very much like a Bach, but with an afterburner when you need it, try one of these... Lynn Nicholson
